Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, but will the English top division leaders recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's only on the road win this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.

A family member told me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the road this season, and Brighton are always strong at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

They have have plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
