Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “harming young minds” by telling students that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his viewpoint on British schools, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike very quickly after securing a victory,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his public life on coded rhetoric and currently, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

The party, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and seems not to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks indicated the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. He said: “We face an enormous task with schooling – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind as opposed to current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned at school, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, Farage also vowed to promote the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I am serious. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to these educational programs. I make that commitment now and I’ll do that.”

The college, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. It offers these beautiful courses for no charge to every interested learner.”
