🔗 Share this article Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care Prosecutors have announced that a former physician now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were patients. The Serious Allegations Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021. One senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.” The Investigation The charges come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital. The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th. List of Offences The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences comprise: Fifteen counts of assault. Seventeen counts of assault by penetration. Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13. Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. One count of attempting to assault by penetration. Police are urging individuals with information to contact the relevant police force.
